About Ayodhya
Ayodhya on the Saryu river is revered as the birthplace of Lord Ram. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple opened in January 2024 and has made the city one of the most visited pilgrimage centres in India.
Getting there

- Ayodhya Dham Junction has trains, including the Vande Bharat from Delhi
- Lucknow is about 135 km, three hours by road
Darshan rules
Darshan at the Ram Mandir is free. Phones, bags, footwear and electronic items are not allowed inside. Use the free lockers at the entrance. Dress modestly. Check the current darshan and aarti timings on the temple trust’s official website before you go, and allow two to three hours on busy days.
What else to see

- Kanak Bhawan
- Dashrath Mahal
- The evening aarti at Ram ki Paidi on the Saryu
- Guptar Ghat
When to go
