Why Fiji
Fiji is a South Pacific nation of more than 300 islands, with reefs, white beaches and resorts on small islands. Indian travellers often feel at home here: almost a third of Fijians have Indian roots, descended from labourers brought in the late 19th century. Hindi is widely spoken, temples stand in every town and Indian food is easy to find.
Entry rules for Indians
Indian citizens receive a visitor permit on arrival in Fiji with a passport valid for six months, a return ticket and proof of accommodation. Rules checked in October 2026. We recheck before every booking.
Getting there
Fiji Airways flies to Nadi from Singapore and Hong Kong, which connect to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai. Routings through Australia or New Zealand need transit visas. Allow 15 to 20 hours each way.
Where to go
- Denarau and Nadi: resorts, the Sri Siva Subramaniya temple and the Garden of the Sleeping Giant
- The Mamanuca islands: short boat rides, island resorts and snorkelling
- The Yasawa islands: quieter, remote beaches and the Sawa-i-Lau caves
- The Coral Coast: beach resorts and the Sigatoka sand dunes
- Taveuni and the Somosomo Strait for divers
When to go
- May to October: the dry season, cooler and less humid, the best time
- November to April: hot and wet, with cyclone risk from January to March
How many nights
- 5 nights: honeymoon on one island resort
- 6 nights: Denarau and the Mamanucas
- 9 nights: add the Yasawas or the Coral Coast
Add a stopover in Singapore to break the journey.
